New Blog for Rice University
Bureau Blank and the Rice Education Entrepreneurship Program (REEP) have collaborated on a web and strategy project to help boost the program’s brand and visibility as an innovator in education reform.
Based within Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business, REEP takes a unique perspective on education by approaching educators and school leaders as entrepreneurs in need of tools and strategic thinking to lead high-performing schools.
Because of this innovative approach, we knew that it was important to use REEP’s web presence to position the program as an outpost for perspectives from Executive Director Andrea Hodge, thought leadership, and important conversations on education. We began the project by working closely with REEP’s marketing team to develop an editorial strategy that outlined the important aspects of building a stronger online voice from the ground-up:
- Editorial tone of voice
- Recommended content types
- Contributions from all key constituents (REEP students, REEP administration, K-12 students and teachers, other education reform advocates)
- Interactivity with audience
- Key performance indicators
Following the editorial strategy, we built the REEP Blog on a Wordpress platform to allow for multiple contributors, easy sharing of posts on social media, and a digest of the most popular content. The blog is showing early signs of success with dialogue between K-12 students, teachers, and advocates happening regularly in comment threads.
